The room was spotless and nice, the bed was super comfy. Breakfast offered a good selection and the river views were stunning. Extra points for the bar and the cookies!

The hotel’s location is great. The staff were friendly and everything ran smoothly. My wife was assigned a room right above the entrance, so the open window made it quite noisy. It was also unpleasant that the open window let in a cigarette smell. Unfortunately, I’ve noticed that when booking through Booking I often end up with “inferior” rooms, and this one was also dated. It’s a shame because the hotel has an excellent location, nice staff, and is rated “higher‑quality.” Overall, this makes a repeat booking harder, especially since we’ll be coming back more often now that part of my family lives in Mainz.
