I’m rating this based on what’s around the area. It’s my third trip to Abay and this is by far the best place I’ve stayed. The hotel sits right in the middle of everything; Baby Surf Point is a 10‑minute walk along the beach, and the sea view isn’t blocked by boats. There’s a comfy deck with bean bags where you can watch the sea and stars. On the city side, Hideaway, Salty Swamis, Geckos and other great cafés are just a 5‑minute walk away. The property offers plenty of spots to hang out with friends, plus a juice/cocktail bar that’s also great. On the downside, the family room door was rusting badly and didn’t close properly. The washroom didn’t circulate air well, so it smelled a bit and we had to keep the door shut at all times. Ants came from random places. The inclusive breakfast wasn’t great, except for the Shakshukah which was fantastic. These issues weren’t huge for us, but the rooms could use a small upgrade.

The location was great, the sea view, the sun loungers provided, and the staff were friendly. The equipment was awful—no hot water, the water drained poorly and left sand everywhere, and it was poorly cleaned with limescale everywhere. The music was loud late at night and very early in the morning.

The outdoor spaces and the beach were good. The room was extremely basic and empty, with only one bed in the middle, and I had to ask for the sheets because there were none.

The location was decent and the staff helped fix every issue we had, but the rooms were in terrible shape—light bulbs were out, the AC leaked, the shower was broken, and the mini fridge didn’t work at all.
