The room turned out to be a single, not a double as the listing said, and that wasn’t mentioned on the printout. It was very basic – just a single bed, a desk, a chair and a side lamp – but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. Nikolay and his wife were kind and friendly, and they made me coffee in the morning. I didn’t have a TV and felt a bit awkward using the family’s bathroom and toilet, and the tea and coffee facilities were in the family’s kitchen.

A good budget option for a one‑night stay near Bristol if staying in the city is too pricey. Having a car helps to get around the area. The hosts were very welcoming and hospitable. The location isn’t the most exciting, being in a residential area, but it’s close enough to amenities. The room was very basic, almost spartan, which was fine for my one‑night stay, but I wouldn’t recommend it for a longer trip.
