“Hotel ? Guest house ?”
The location and the owner’s initial friendly welcome at arrival made us think it was a hotel, but it turned out to be more of a house‑management. We wanted to keep in touch with the front desk, but from the evening we were alone. I was ill and couldn’t get the person on WhatsApp to ask for a doctor’s name, address, or help with transport in Rome. I also told them we had trouble sleeping because the curtains weren’t wide enough on the windows. The breakfast shop, located two streets from the room, opened at 9 am on Sunday, even though we were told it would be open from 7 am to 9 am, and we had a 9 am tour that we missed! The staff made our bed and cleaned the sink, but I lost my ID and was left helpless trying to figure out what paperwork was needed in Italy. The elevator was stuck between two floors, forcing us to take the short stairs, which was a minor nuisance for the price paid and there was no information about check‑out either. We’re not sure if this is how one is supposed to act in this type of establishment. It was meant to be an anniversary stay; next time we’ll choose differently. Evebibi France
