The well‑maintained resort right on the beach had a good breakfast, a lovely pool, and the reception staff were very helpful; a 100 m walk from the hotel is a nice beach bar. The downside is that not all bungalow terraces are covered, which becomes an issue in the rain, and the beach bar/restaurant feels a little bland in design.

Because we were off‑season, the hotel was almost empty and the buffet breakfast was a decent idea, though the menu was modest and the same every day, probably because there wasn’t a lot of staff to cook. Only a few dozen people were in the entire hotel. The whole area is tucked into a jungle setting, well kept, and genuinely pleasant, though the rooms showed signs of long use. The breakfast staff focused on western dishes, but they were not very good. Simple items like scrambled eggs, fried eggs, or eggs Benedict were failures; the scrambled eggs had a strange sodium glutamate seasoning, the fried eggs were over‑cooked, cold, and hard, and adding salmon instead of bacon to the eggs Benedict was a bad idea. Messy hallways in the room and a terrace that wasn’t cleaned for several days gave a poor impression.
