“Revenim la Trieste, dar nu la aceasta cazare”
I found the address easily after checking in at the company office on the other side of town. Relatively close to the center. We walked about 25 minutes. The location is actually a larger apartment turned into two separate accommodation units. We stayed in the large apartment, with two rooms and a private bathroom, and next to us, behind a wall, there was a one‑room accommodation with a bathroom on the common hallway. It was good that we didn’t touch the hallway except when we came out or entered from outside, but it was still odd. The partition wall was thin, you could hear everything from the other side. That’s why all the madness with all the safes for keys and the access code to the apartment, whose lock was also giving rates. Madness, not otherwise. Parking is not secured, which is a big minus in such a city. If you’re walking around and don’t look at the clock, you risk staying without parking from the paid or free spots, and you can’t park anywhere… Anyway, parking was difficult. Very ugly situation. If you have kids and come at night, you’re looking for madness for nothing. Luckily I found a paid multi‑storey parking 15 minutes on foot. It cost me 20 euros from 23:00 to 9:00 the next day. But what do you do when you stay more days? Expensive and useless accommodation if you don’t have a reservation. Another annoying aspect. The furniture in the room is old and ugly, a book shelf and a dresser… It doesn’t appear in the photos, but it’s there. And the shelves are empty. At least there should be something on them or better disappear entirely, if they can’t be replaced with something simple from IKEA, for example. It’s disheartening. For families, the lack of a kitchenette is a minus. We only had mugs and an espresso machine with questionable quality coffee. Shame for Italy, where coffee is served as an art.
