“4th stay”

The staff were excellent, the location beautiful, and the restaurant delicious. The bed was the most uncomfortable thing I have ever slept on. This was our fourth stay at the hotel and every other time it had been fine, but this time neither of us could sleep a wink and we even considered leaving at 2 am because of it. We visit every year but this might be our last.

“great location. rough start- see above comment”

Great location, loved the river outside the hotel. The rooms need updating. We arrived later than planned and hadn’t had dinner yet. We missed our reservation due to traffic issues by 20‑30 minutes. The hotel had given our reservation to someone else, which was totally understandable. We were hungry and they offered no solution—nothing, not even a tray of cheese and crackers in the room. It was not a good start to our stay, felt very inhospitable and uncaring.

“Perfect riverside retreat.”

Beautiful riverside location. Inside the hotel is warm and cosy. My room was fabulous with a comfortable bed, great shower and lovely view of the river. The staff were outstanding. I had an evening meal and cooked breakfast both of which were superb and met my needs for gluten free options well. If I come back to this area I will definitely stay again

Once again a beautiful break in the most lovely surroundings. The hotel is relaxed and welcoming; the staff are friendly and it’s just one of my favourite places.

“Good value.”

Nice room. Old rickety lift. Decided not to use it. Long way uphill to the third floor
