The vibe was great, but the spot isn’t really close to the temple.
“A wonderful find situated in a calm setting, away from the hustle and bustle of a busy town, but close enough to walk or”
A little gem. Very clean, spacious, with both air con and a fan for good measure. The bathroom was particularly modern and stocked with bottles dispensing hand soap and shampoo. Whilst our hosts were working elsewhere, leaving their very capable house lady to look after us, they were readily available on WhatsApp and went the extra mile and more by organising prepaid transport to take us to the property when we had lost our way. The food, served in the main house (which is interconnected by a walkway) was fresh and plentiful. The only problem we encountered was one which I think may have occurred before, in that Anandam Woods is not correctly sited on the Booking, com map. In fact it is “out” by over 2 km. Then owners, who have two interconnected properties, Anandam Woods and Anandam Stays advertised , are aware of this, and as mentioned above, helped us out by providing transport. I believe the problem could be easily solved and have passed on our thoughts to the owners
We ended up here by Google search. Our room was for two persons, neat and clean with AC, western toilet, geyser, electric kettle for hot water. The place is full of trees and wasn't hot despite the heat outside. The lady caretaker Rathi was helpful and we had breakfast and lunch on 7/1. Puttu, kadalai kari, pappadams. Lunch with saambar, chowli stir-fry, raita, achar and pappadam again. It was a tasty homemade sumptuous food. The ambiance of the place with old artefacts like gramophone, wet grinder (aattukkal) dry grinder, hanging lamps, urulis and my wife liked the side table with elephant heads as legs. It is just 5 minutes ride to the Vaikom temple and the Kundi Devi temple is just across the homestay. Dr Renu Anand who is the owner's wife was available on WhatsApp for all our queries. I will say IT WAS A VALUE FOR MONEY PLACE We also had the chance to see the other unoccupied rooms, all well maintained. Strongly recommend this place
“Cosy and romantic place. Very nice.”
The house felt cozy and romantic, and we even got a balcony to relax on. The lady who checked us in was super friendly, and the owner, whom we only spoke to over the phone, went above and beyond to fix our Wi‑Fi issue. The only downside was that it’s a bit far from restaurants unless you have transport, though the one we found was very good and friendly.
There is nothing for liking. No. Continous Tv Channels telecast. Monthly Subscription not paid Regularly. Most of the TV Channels (Malayalam) works only for 20 Minutes. Then automatically cutoff information. No drinking Water supply regularly. No hair shampoo and Bath Soap supply. A/c.working throughout night is a positive point. Disturbance of mouse and cat in the ceiling throughtout night made interruption for peaceful sleeping
