“A delightful overnight stay.”

Breakfast was excellent with muesli, yoghurt, fruit, scrambled eggs, tomato, toast, and good coffee. The hotel sits on the main road, making it convenient for exploring the town. The hosts were very helpful with information. There’s nothing specific to criticize, though a few garden items could use maintenance or removal. Parking is very handy.

Jonno, Maya, and their dog Mocca are wonderful hosts at this pet‑friendly, historic establishment. The late nineteenth‑century home has been tastefully restored, and guests can enjoy a delicious buffet breakfast in a cosy dining room beside the open‑plan kitchen where Maya and her staff bake rusks, bread, and croissants. The main house feels sociable, yet the rooms remain private and comfortable. Located on the main street, it’s within walking distance of Napier shops and restaurants, while the terraced garden overlooks the countryside and offers a quieter atmosphere. I look forward to staying there again!

“Lovely hosts, comfortable bed, luxurious bedding and a delicious breakfast!”

The place is central and easy to find. I felt a bit unsafe with my car parked there because the gate was open; an electric gate that closed would have been preferable. I understand that the open gate allows guests to come and go freely. The bathroom had no windows or ventilation, so steam would fill the room and we had to open the door.
