The staff at check‑in were friendly, the hotel is very central and has parking (paid). However, the bathroom and toilet are in separate rooms; the bathroom is so cramped that you can barely open or close the door while standing inside. The toilet has no ventilation, so the whole smell drifts into the room. The lighting is a disaster: there is no ceiling lamp, only a broken standing lamp and a small table lamp. The outlets on the nightstand don’t work. The outdoor area is unkempt. Breakfast is served until 10:30, which is fine, but we arrived just before 10 on both days and the staff (except one young man) were unfriendly. The buffet wasn’t restocked because we were apparently the last guests to eat; the rolls were gone on the first day. Overall, it felt like you’re no longer welcome for breakfast after 10 am.
The location is great; you can walk anywhere quickly. The room was disappointing: the fridge was dirty and moldy, all the silicone seals in the shower were moldy, the drain had mold, the faucet sprayed everywhere, the balcony was overrun with weeds, and the water glasses were filthy.
“Voor de rest ruime kamer groot bed voor 1 nacht verder niets te klagen”
The location was fine, but the toilet trash bin hadn’t been emptied; I asked them to do it. Reception was really subpar, everything took too long, and it was chaotic.
“Schöne Lage - das war's”
The location was good, but the staff were grumpy and the complaints were never fixed—just excuses that nothing could be done. Room cleaning only happened after two requests, the furnishings were worn with peeling paint and dirty corners, breakfast was below average, and on the second day there was no jam at all. Instead of napkins, they used paper towels. The room was scorching hot in September, the check‑in was bureaucratic, and the bill was missing.
I booked six rooms for six people for two nights through Booking, but the receptionist only found one guest’s name. They assigned me a room and when I entered with an electronic key, I discovered it was dirty and occupied. They apologized, switched rooms, but I couldn’t enter because the key wasn’t activated. After a while I finally got the room, which turned out to be spacious and clean overall. The next morning the water was freezing, and the reception was unmanned; we didn’t know who to contact. The breakfast staff were clueless too. We eventually found a phone number, but the answering service told us to leave a message: “We’ll take care of it.” Later that afternoon we learned that rooms weren’t cleaned unless we explicitly asked, which was absurd. Thankfully the hot water was fine. Then one of the six guests, while resting, heard the door open and a couple of tourists entered the same room that had been assigned to them. They apologized profusely and we had to start over. At reception, another guest pointed out that the electronic key had two different room numbers printed—one on the front and one on the back—so he didn’t know where to go. It was a disaster. We were unlucky, but too many mishaps happened.
