“Hotel clásico, con una atención regular”
The common areas were fine. The staff service was poor, especially at reception.

Hotel El Prado, located in Barranquilla's El Prado neighborhood, features neo-classical rooms with modern amenities, built in the 1930s. The hotel offers air-conditioned accommodations with cable TV, courtesy water bottles, and free parking. Guests can enjoy a large pool surrounded by palm trees, free WiFi in common areas, and a restaurant serving buffet breakfast and à la carte dishes with pool views.

A magnificent colonial‑era grand hotel, well maintained and restored. The pool is huge. It’s quiet, clean, and offers a very good price. Only a little English is spoken. It’s geared toward the domestic market, so the facilities are not those of an international grand hotel (the bar is noisy, the only dining option is a very casual pizza place; you need to “sign out” pool towels; the spa isn’t visually appealing). The room is clean and quiet but very basic. I would stay again and suggest it to those open to a more local experience.

Breakfast was decent, location acceptable. The rooms lack a wardrobe for organizing clothes, the area is very basic and humid, and entrance is through a bathroom, the same applies to the gym entrance. The food did not meet expectations; one day there were no pasta dishes, another day there was a shortage of items.

The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety and is constantly restocked, but the building we stayed in feels very old and hasn't been updated much, plus there were a lot of mosquitoes in the room.

Breakfast was good, but there was no savory bread, only sweets; it was the only good food, but we had a bad experience with the dusty snack, all the fries were crunchy (they looked like they were from D1). Room service, the club sandwich on the second‑to‑last night had sweet bread; the chicken soup was the leftover of a sandwich with unevenly cut potatoes and pieces of banana (no chicken). The Caesar salad had burnt lettuce and sweet anchovy sauce. No hot water ever.
