The room was good in a beautiful, modern‑furnished apartment. The kitchen was nice, and tea, coffee pods, oil, and herbs were even available. A working phone is essential, otherwise you almost can’t get into the building; the instructions sent by e‑mail were very precise.

The place is close to Troyes’ beautiful town centre—just a 20‑minute walk—and near shops and take‑aways; Aldi is right across but closes at 8 pm. Free car parking is behind the building, and the windows and balcony offer lovely views. The price is good, and the facilities are clean—kitchen, plates, cutlery, glasses, fridge, microwave, etc. The lounge/dining area is spacious, and the shower room is a good size. When we first arrived, I thought we’d made a mistake: the apartment sits on the top floor of a block shared with locals and looked dirty outside. The entry area smelled musty, the elevator was tiny and also had a smell, and the entry system was confusing at first—read the instructions carefully or you’ll be confused! Thomas helped explain the process via WhatsApp. Inside, we were surprised and relieved to find a nice space. When we booked, it wasn’t clear that the dining area, balcony, kitchen, shower room, and other facilities were shared with other guests. We went to bed and woke to a key in the door with a light outside our bedroom, but the other guests were quiet, so no problem. Just be aware of this when you book. I wasn’t comfortable with the toilet being close to the kitchen and dining area, so I had to pick the right moment, but the layout only allows it here.

The concept didn’t suit me! I had to retrieve the complex room. The manager offered no help, and I couldn’t get a refund even though I left the same evening as my arrival. The cleanliness was lacking.
