Casas Do Rio Sado - Sado River Country Retreat is a rustic retreat situated 90 minutes' driving from Lisbon, next to Sta. Margarida do Sado village. Each suite features a private bathroom, seating area, and terrace overlooking rice fields, with two sun loungers at the pool area. Continental breakfast is included, and a microwave is available for meal warming.

The room itself was fine, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was great. The room was relatively clean, and the pool was beautiful, but it was a shame the kiddie pool was only 1.10 meters deep. The view over the rice fields was lovely, but the price-quality ratio was really off. We had to pay an extra 240 euros per night for the kids, just for a room with beds and a shower. The shared kitchen was a nice touch, but there were no coffee or tea facilities in the room.

The place was healthy, homemade, and surprisingly not Mediterranean at all. But what it really needed was more variety - think homemade jams, fresh juices, and local cheeses.

This hotel is a gem if you're looking for peace and comfort. The staff is super friendly, the pool area is spotless, and the rooms are clean with air conditioning. I'd definitely come back.
