“Super! Schönes Stadthotel außerhalb der Touristenzentren mit überragendem Personal.”
The Carlton Hotel is located in the Zizkov district. The décor is a bit dated, but it has charm. We booked a smaller Junior Suite because we were traveling around the Czech Republic and had a lot of luggage. The hotel even gave us a suite twice as large with separate living and sleeping areas. Parking was booked directly through the hotel, and the underground garage is right across the street. So we were surprised and pleased by these two things. The room was spotless, comfortable and had everything you need for a stay. A safe would have been nice, but it wasn’t a big problem. No need to lug things around because the hotel has an elevator. Public transport is great, with two tram lines you’re in the city center in 10 minutes. Since we already saw that, we’re not that interested; we prefer walking in the outer districts and exploring on foot. The hotel is ideal for that! The breakfast buffet was top‑class, a very large selection that was refilled frequently. What makes a hotel? First impressions, cleanliness, room quality… but more importantly, you should feel arrived and welcome. In these two areas it’s simply perfect! From the reception to the breakfast staff, everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, greeted us with a smile so we felt truly comfortable. That was definitely great and is surely the small but fine difference from many other hotels. Since we’re often in Prague, it won’t be the last stay at the Carlton – we’re already looking forward to it! Thank you very much for the pleasant time! The only downside is that a tram runs right by the hotel. At night and with the window open, it rattles and clanks loudly. However, there are very good sound‑proof windows; when they’re closed, you hear nothing. That’s the only tiny drawback – it’s balanced by the fact that the tram stop is almost right next to the hotel. So there’s really nothing to complain about.
