Bell Tent - Lakeside

The owners were incredibly welcoming, and it was wonderful to enjoy the stay with both our dogs. We loved the lovely walks around the property, and cozy evenings by the warm fire made it even more special. Without any light pollution, the night sky was breathtaking — genuinely revitalizing.

The place was beautiful and very peaceful, a true return to nature. The lake lights up at night with plenty of wildlife, and I felt safe and not too far from other guests. We brought our dog and walked around the fields, seeing some gorgeous sights. The picnic table was fine and served its purpose. I’d definitely go back. The inflatable bed was only inflated on one side, which made sleeping terrible. We only realized this when it was too late to ask for a fix. The tent was cold and the bedding insufficient, but we’d camped a few days before and brought extra sleeping bags and blankets. The light didn’t work inside the tent, but we knew to bring our own. The walk from the car park is brutal with all your gear, but it was well advertised so we knew what we were getting into. The toilet was basic but functional.

The view was okay, and the farm staff were friendly. It was very basic; I know it’s a back‑to‑nature experience, but there was a blow‑up mattress on the floor. The bench outside was falling apart and not safe to sit on. The bathroom was basically a bucket with a toilet seat in a small shed with no interior light, so at night you can’t see anything unless you have a torch. It’s on a working farm, which isn’t a problem in itself, but sheep roam the field all night and disturb you a lot. The view was more like a mud bath that all the farm animals use day and night, not a lake.
