Niseko Hirafu Tsukushi

This accomodation well and truly exceeded my expectations. I thought the location is perfect, it is a 15 minute drive to the closest resort, Niseko Hirafu, but since the staff are so friendly and offer a free shuttle service to and from Niseko Hirafu it became the perfect location. You have access to everything you need in Kutchan like good restaurants, grocery/convenience stores, and easy access to the snow resorts. The hostel was always clean, never any issues with mess. The facilities had everything you need for a long stay as well, nice bathrooms, showers, washing room. The kitchen was beyond what I expected to have access to in a hostel. I met lots of friendly people staying at the hostel. Always people coming and going

The best hostel I've stayed at!! Facilities were super clean, the kitchen was big and fully equipped, rooms were small but had adequate storage. Great place to go skiing and snowboarding! The lovely owners, Suke-san and Kana-san, run a fantastic operation to make sure the hostel is clean and the guests are accommodated. They are amazingly helpful and have assisted me on many occasions for things like, booking restaurants, organising delivery (Yamato Black Cat) and local suggestions for onsen, restaurants, and visits. They also run a shuttle service daily to take you to and from Niseko Hirafu (set times), which is great for anyone considering a short stay. I would recommend getting a car if you're doing a long stay, as it unlocks a lot more options to go travelling to other places and do some resort hopping. There is plenty of parking available (more car spots than rooms). Overall, I can't recommend this place enough!! Cool place to meet new people for a ski/snowboard trip and Suke-san and Kana-san just made the whole experience so much easier!!

We had the private twin room (2 beds) in the hostel. It was incredibly cozy and great value for when we were traveling. The room wasn't the largest, but had plenty of under bed storage for our luggage and the hostel had a separate gear room to hold & dry all your ski equipment. Bathrooms & all other shared spaces were very clean - good water pressure, nice kitchen, and the owners were both super kind and accommodating (daily pickup & dropoff to Welcome Center for skiing + extra pickup & dropoff for us to catch our busses to CTS airport). We primarily communicated with the property during our stay through the app - I wonder if it'd be easier to use text/whatsapp or something similar (no complaints though, the app worked fine)
