“Arnaque”

Nothing good to say. Renting a house like this is a shame – it smells bad, isn’t maintained, and we didn’t read the reviews beforehand. For 144 € a night we didn’t get hot water, couldn’t shower, and nothing was done about it. We had another place that wasn’t available, so they forced us here, which feels like a scam.

The space is large enough for everyone to share a room, and the accommodation could be perfect if it were better maintained and better equipped for the price we paid. The place was dirty: a water leak in the bathroom sink wasn’t fixed, the showers were filthy, and I had to bleach them on arrival to use them. Egg stains on the walls, damaged items left in the room instead of being removed (they asked for a deposit, so nothing should be broken on arrival), and the small courtyard, which could have been pleasant and open, felt like a landfill with toilet paper on the floor, unemptied ashtrays, and abandoned broken objects. I also had to dry the sheets and bath towels that were all damp in the dryer – clearly an oversight – so I generously dried and folded them before leaving. I have videos for the owner if needed.

The sleeping capacity is good. The photos don’t reflect reality – there’s a lack of cutlery, no supplies for cleaning or dishes, and the dishes aren’t clean.

“Ohne Französischkenntnisse eine Katastrophe”

The location was very central. When I arrived at the booked apartment, no one was there. It was hard to reach anyone by phone, and after about ten unsuccessful calls I finally got someone on the line. He spoke very little English and gave me another number to call. That lady spoke even less English, hung up after a few seconds, and never answered again. About 30 minutes later I suddenly received a WhatsApp message, in French. Thanks to a translation app I learned the booked apartment was unavailable and I could get another one. I agreed and received the code for the lockbox. In the new apartment we discovered there were only six beds instead of the seven we needed, so one group member had to sleep on the floor. There was no toilet paper, but we luckily had some for an emergency. If you want to avoid stress, book with another provider – you shouldn’t speak French.

The owner didn’t communicate, the accommodation was filthy, the beds were unclean upon arrival, and the garden was messy. We complained via Booking and found a new place.
