The bathroom and room are spacious, modernly equipped and designed. There’s a fridge and a small kitchenette in the closet, making the room truly cozy. Breakfast is completely fine. In room A21, the double bed has little room around it because walls are close on 3 of 4 sides, so it’s a bit cramped and you can only get onto the bed from the foot end.

A spotless, well‑run place with an exceptionally generous breakfast spread. The stay was comfortable. The problem isn’t with the hotel itself; it’s a pity that the beautiful local facilities are abandoned and decaying, which is disheartening.

We liked that it’s close to many attractions – Thale, Wernigerode, Quedlinburg, Teuelsmauer – and that walking through the forest in town is pleasant. Unfortunately, the promised restaurants “in town” are gone; only two remain, and you must book them on weekends. We didn’t know this, so we ended up with a pizza baker in Gernrode as a last‑minute solution for dinner.
