“we were there for the Celtic carnival and it cost us money and petrol unnecessary however we did still have a good stay”

We stayed at the lodge and it was spotless and comfortable. Everything else about the property was great and we’ll return, but the only let‑down was that the Celtic carnival we came for had been cancelled; we just wish the owners had provided that info beforehand.

I liked the porridge. My husband is gluten‑free and brought his own cereal, and the milk options were great for him too, who is dairy‑intolerant. I was a bit disappointed that a bench stood in front of the door leading to the deck; we ate lunch on it but had to walk around. A large group stayed there in the evening, and the bench in front of our door made it feel like it wasn’t really ours.

We stayed in “The Cottage” it was lovely, everything you could possibly need was there. Plenty of parking, and close to town. There was a persistent “rattle” during the night, we thought it was the shutters, but it turned out to be a wall hanging on the wall outside the bedroom had we have realised it sooner we would have removed it for nighttime, otherwise The bed was comfortable and warm
