“Opaalkust”

The hotel is in a nice village not far from the beach. Breakfast and dinner are served at another hotel in the same chain nearby. The beds were fine. Parking in the village is free, but it was full during local festivals. Despite a confirmed booking, our room was occupied. After a while we were offered another room, but it wasn’t clean. After another 45 minutes the issue was resolved. When we arrived, a festival was scheduled in the village, so parking space was almost none; this was fixed in the evening.

Breakfast was classic and well-stocked, and the staff were competent and attentive to guests’ wishes. We asked for a ground‑floor apartment for reduced mobility and received a room that matched that request. The quality of the room accessories was poor: the door lock didn’t work well, the TV remote was missing a piece, and the toilet flush leaked.

The second night we stayed in the other building, which clearly needs renovation and a fresh look; we ran into a few issues with the hot water in the shower.

The welcome was warm, the manager and all the staff were very kind and courteous, and the linens and premises were clean. However, the first double “superior” room we got didn’t justify the price, though they moved us to different rooms on the second and third nights, which were much better.
