“Tanulság a Bookingnak”

They redirected us to Tapolca, which is not the level expected from Booking; I’ve never stayed in a place like this before, even though I travel a lot. The problem wasn’t the retro vibe but the mold, mildew smell, and neglected surroundings—an outright disaster for guests. While we were there, more people arrived, even foreign German young adults, and I wonder what they think of us Hungarians! I checked the Booking page and saw what was happening; the lesson for us is not to trust the nice words. It was shocking, yet we still paid the Booking price, about a 50‑year‑old worker’s lodging level. At least there was some cleanliness, but it was a shocking experience that will be hard to forget. I have photos of the conditions; if Booking is interested, look into it and act, because the office will lose guests. I’ve been traveling abroad with them for years, always expecting quality lodging, but now I’m uncertain, and other guests directed to the same place should be warned. Please take action.

“Csak az menjen oda aki csalódni akar.”

The view was nice, but the owner or caretaker could only be reached by phone, and only if they were available. Instead of a room with a bathroom we got a hole that had flooded, the sheets were stained, and a blanket covered the door, so we had to contact the mayor’s office.

“Ez a szállásadó egy csaló!”

The accommodation cancelled our booking on the day of arrival with a flimsy excuse, offered some lodging in Tapolca that apparently wasn’t an option, and later I don’t think it existed; we were the family of four who dealt with them.

We didn’t book the base because the room was rented to someone else, so we didn’t spend any time there.
