The view from the room was lovely, but the cleanliness was a nightmare. The whole place looked neglected – stained floors, hair on the carpet, dirty glasses on the balcony, and a fridge that was mouldy. The bathroom was the worst part, with a toilet that hadn't been cleaned for weeks, a grimy sink, black hair on the floor, and mouldy grout. Even the glasses on the table were dusty, and the cup still had the previous guest's water.

We loved waking up to the lake view and the peaceful surroundings; the region is simply beautiful. The bed was super comfortable, and the host made us feel right at home. They also left coffee capsules, tea bags, bottled water, and even a bottle of wine in the room when we arrived – talk about a warm welcome. Nothing to complain about, it was perfect.

The hotel’s location is awesome – right on the lake and next to a bus stop, plus Gersau’s guest card is a nice perk. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed, and the family‑like atmosphere made us feel welcome. Price‑to‑value was spot on, though the breakfast could have offered more fruit and vegetables.
