The staff were very friendly, the rooms were surprisingly clean, and it was a peaceful spot despite the heavy traffic nearby; it was really nice and I planted a standard multiple times. I didn’t like that they locked the laundry room at 9:00; it should stay open all night.

The location was great. The lady at check‑in and check‑out was terrific. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. The bathroom needs attention: they should replace the low, outdated tub with a higher toilet and a shower to make it easier for handicapped people to use.

“Only for weary travelers of very short stays!!!”

Location was very close to where family live in order to take care of business matters. Office manager/personnel was very kind and accommodating. She tried her very best with what she had available to meet our needs. She provided us with extra towels and pillow upon request. When the air-conditioning went out, she provided us with another room (that had air conditioning, but seemed like a transient person may have been in prior due to urine odor). The facility/Motel is very old and severely needs updating. Our stay was for one week to visit family and take care of business matters, so we chose State Motel because of the close proximity. The wifi service was slow so made it hard to work remotely. The air conditioning went out on us and the only available rooms were smoking as we are non-smokers. The room replacement offered to us had good working air conditioning, but reeked of urine (which Manager had warned us about as they needed to replace a mattress). Unfortunately, my husband can't smell due to nasal problems, I didn't mind the room being warm. We had to choose lesser of two evils as my husband can't tolerate heat which would keep him up at night, leaving him exhausted for following work day. The hairdryer in the first motel room didn't work along with the air conditioning. We asked for extra towels and pillow to help our stay be more comfortable, which the Manager kindly rectified. 2nd motel room was filthy, luckily for us only having to spend 7 hours to sleep and leave the following morning. This motel may meet the bare necessities for weary travelers, but is not at all a place I would recommend for long, comfortable stays. Be sure you have toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and kleenex is not provided), does have generic motel bar soap. Must wear socks/slippers at all times as floors are filthy. My first night, my feet were black from the filthy floor and I washed my feet, but wore socks of flip flops the remaining stay. Some pillows are old and not full and comfortable.had to use 2 pillows to meet comfort of 1
