“Idyllic quiet gem of a place.”
This place is idyllic, and in July you might get the whole hotel to yourself. It’s a short walk to the beach, which can be lovely. The pool is a good size and the gardens attract many birds. The room was huge, with a double sink and a well‑sized bathroom/shower. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning worked well. Breakfast was massive, with little choice but to be served a variety of platters to work through. We took a selection from breakfast each day and stored it in the fridge for a lunchtime or afternoon snack. The evening meal was modest and simply prepared but always tasty. They also serve a good cocktail. The beach can suffer from Sargasum on the shore, but we didn’t find it smelly (unlike some places further down the coast). There is some litter on the beach, which it would be nice if they cleaned up. Hawkers are on the beach, but they don’t bother you and add a bit of local color. It’s pretty isolated (like many off‑the‑beach hotels on the island), so there isn’t a tourist‑friendly town within walking distance to explore. We were happy to relax and stay on the hotel’s grounds.
