We were thrilled by the stunning vistas from Room 6 on Kirkgate and the overall setting in “James Herriot's Yorkshire.” The room itself was spacious, elegant, and supremely comfortable, making our stay truly memorable. However, we missed having laundry facilities on the premises for our extended trip, and every room should at least include an iron and ironing board so guests don’t appear wrinkled.

The spot was spot on, just a short walk from the town centre, and free parking was a nice perk. Room 9 was clean and roomy, but the price of £187/night felt steep, especially since breakfast isn’t offered. There were no hosts on site; all communication went through texts and emails. The room stayed hot, one window wouldn’t open at all and the other only a few inches, and the bed was so low that getting out was a struggle. The tea and coffee station only had three milk sachets, and the oatmeal milk tasted awful in the single cup we managed to brew.

I’m grateful to the hosts; their communication was flawless, and I’ll be back soon.

The accommodation was very clean and the location was great for both the town centre and the racecourse. The room was quite warm, and the fan wasn’t doing much, so it might not always feel that way.
