The spot was good and the price was reasonable, and the staff were friendly. The first room’s A/C was broken, so they moved me to a working one right away. The elevator had a strong odor, the bathroom wasn’t very clean, and overall the hotel feels like an old property that was recently patched up on a budget.

The hotel is close to the airport and only a 10‑minute taxi/Uber ride from Irving’s convention center. The shuttle never showed up, so I waited over an hour and had to pay for Uber both times. Breakfast was awful; the coffee was burnt, the scrambled eggs looked plastic, and there were no decent options besides sugary, greasy fare.

Being near many shops made it convenient. In the bathroom the mirror light was broken, the ceiling had a missing light/fan leaving a large hole with drywall dust everywhere, and I had to bring a desk lamp into the shower. The light/fan was shoved under the sink.

The air leak was terrible—water soaked the floor next to our bed, so the covers got drenched. The shower door wouldn’t stay closed, forcing me to hold it shut with one hand so the bathroom wouldn’t flood.
