“Awful, and we were only partially refunded what we were promised”
Nothing at all. Issues: 1. Bedsheets reeked of body odor (and “bed cheese” - body fluid excretions), were wrinkled and unclean. Property manager refused to come to the facility to provide clean linens. We told the property manager that I am a handicapped Military veteran, which is why we needed and selected a ground-floor room. There was no way to accommodate me transferring to another room that was acceptable or accessible, since it was upstairs. We noted the motel was mostly empty of other travelers, only 3 other vehicles were observed onsite during our overnight stay. 2. The room bore a strong odor of mildew, water damage and seepage was clearly visible on the ceiling, walls and floor. 3. Toilet seat was loose and nearly broken, causing skin to be pinched on the back of my wife’s thighs when she sat down, and the toilet ring shifted beneath her. 4. Heavy dust and dirt was observed in corners, floors and shelving in the bathroom area. Windows were dirty, clouded, and glared any light through them accordingly. We went to Family Dollar nearby to purchase cleaning products such as air sanitizer and appliance, cleansing wipes, Lysol Disinfectant spray, and sheets for us to sleep on (and subsequently took with us). Total expenses neared $100, essentially close to the cost of the room for 1 night. 5. Ice machine out of order. No clean or running water at the breakfast bar to hydrate instant oats or grits that were provided. Food was old, stale, and unpalatable. No milk or juices provided. It was unacceptable, we bought breakfast at Hardie’s across the street for two people, at a cost of $25.00… 6. Some lights had no bulbs in them, and added to the dark atmosphere of the room. 7. The Direct TV System was difficult to operate, despite having a much better version here at home. Input to controls did not respond as commanded, and defaulted to a channel I did not wish to view. After 10 minutes, we gave up and turned it off
