The staff were friendly and breakfast was provided at a reasonable price, but there is a bit of an uphill walk to reach the hotel. The hotel is obviously very old, the elevator is very small with a manual door to open, and the room still uses a key with a very heavy key holder that you have to bring with you.

I stayed in a cramped room that didn’t have a kettle, and the communal kitchen wasn’t open until 8.00am, which made mornings a hassle.

The service was good, but the location was disappointing.

I was close to the Matterhorn cable car, the room and facilities were clean, I felt safe, and the basement communal kitchen had a fridge and a paid washing machine.
