I got a reasonable price for a stay. The shower door lock was broken and the toilet seat was wobbly, shifting when you sat on it.

“I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.”

I had one of the worst hotel experiences in a long time. I simply asked to move to a more comfortable bed, especially since there were empty ones, but the staff member was rude, kept interrupting me, and demanded extra payment. Her handling was unnecessary and made me uneasy from the start. After I sent a complaint message, the same staff member came up to me again, claiming I’d misunderstood her, and kept bringing up the issue even though I’d already complained and wanted no more confrontation. She didn’t just apologise and let me enjoy the rest of my stay; she continued the confrontation and made me uncomfortable again. That level of customer service is unacceptable. Even if a policy or extra charge applied, guests deserve basic courtesy and respect. What should have been a relaxing weekend turned into an avoidable stress. I would not recommend this hotel.

I couldn’t quite communicate with the foreigners, but at least we greeted each other. The stairs were steep, so when I went down I ended up hurting my butt.

The location, staff, and cleaning were all solid. After 11 am you can’t shower, which is odd for a dormitory where other guests might also want to shower at any time.

I booked a single room in the women's dorm for two nights, then added a third night because my schedule changed. The front desk staff were friendly, and the daily housekeeping made the room feel very comfortable. I ended up enjoying my stay and will likely return when I visit Dongdaemun again.
