I was struck by how beautiful the place is and how close it sits to the lake, but the lighting in the parking lot at night was so poor that I couldn't find my way in.

The location is great, though there isn’t much hiking or walking on the property; the room is awesome and the view of Lake Cuyamaca is fantastic, yet the food could use improvement – a basic burger costs $21 and the breakfast is weak; they really need a proper chef.

The spot looks nice, but the room and the outside are too bright at night, people get noisy after 9 pm in the hot tub, the shower pressure is weak, and the meal delivery service felt odd.

Every detail of this resort shows careful attention and is kept beautifully; it seems to have started as a lake hotel but now feels like a cozy oasis – whether you want to meditate or hike, both are fine; the décor is Asian eclectic and works well, the library is actually very good, staff are always helpful, the beds are comfortable, and our room offered a stunning view of Lake Cucamaya; we only stayed one night but would love to return for several days to relax; it’s close to Julian and a short drive to loop around the Sunrise Highway, and everything was great.
