Located in South-Iceland, 5 km from Vik i Myrdal, Hotel Katla by Keahotels offers easy access to the South Coast's dramatic landscapes and natural treasures. The hotel features an outdoor hot tub, sauna, and fitness centre, as well as classically decorated rooms with work desks and cable/satellite TVs. A buffet breakfast and local dinner options are available at the in-house restaurant.

The location was fine. The bathrooms were a bit dated and had a smell.

The hotel ran efficiently and knows its value; it’s close to the main sights and Vik, has a nice view, efficient service, and decent breakfast. The room was very warm, almost like a sauna, and the reception gave us a fan right away when we mentioned it, so it’s not a new problem for them, but the fan didn’t really help. It’s also very expensive, which is understandable given the limited availability of properties in the area.

The room was spacious, clean, and modern, with a lovely view from the window, and the staff were welcoming and friendly. However, there was no mini fridge or telephone in the room, and to request anything you had to get dressed, put on shoes, and walk to the reception in a separate building.
