The accommodation is super quiet and very pretty, close to everything, the staff is very friendly, and I would definitely come back to Las Terrenas. Note that if you book without a kitchen you get a ground‑floor room with a bathroom; if you book with a kitchen you get two floors, the top has a room and the bottom has a bathroom and kitchen. Everything was great 👌

Parking is right in front, the tropical garden is well maintained, there’s a ceiling fan in addition to the air conditioning, and the staff were responsive when we had a minor issue. The area is quiet, yet everything is reachable on foot. The entrance door was a heavy wooden shutter with a mosquito net attached; it looked scenic for the double opening onto the pool but offered no light, thermal, or acoustic isolation when closed. The bathroom shares the same space as the wardrobe/fridge, which has windows that are always open, so the noise of people walking nearby could be heard. We found a blanket stained with lipstick. The water is not potable, but there is a water dispenser for brushing teeth, which is somewhat inconvenient. The price might be a bit high given some of the discomforts.

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa Shambala. From the moment we arrived, everything felt peaceful, beautiful, and incredibly welcoming. The property is even more stunning in person, from the lush tropical gardens to the pool, creating a relaxing atmosphere that makes it hard to leave. Vincent was an amazing host, and his staff were wonderful and welcoming. We truly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

The location is excellent, very central, a stone’s throw from the beach while avoiding the noise of the front line. The garden and pool are a marvel. The house is pretty and clean. The breakfast is very tasty and varied. We missed wall hooks in the room and a full-length mirror, which were important for us; we also didn’t have a second key, so we couldn’t bring different schedules without disturbing the person sleeping in the house. A second key is usually provided when requested, but it wasn’t possible here, nor was the entrance code. Nevertheless, the stay, the house, the location, and the hosts were wonderful, and it would be a perfect place to return.
