“Ein ganz unerwarteter Schatz!”

What a surprising gem! We stayed there during a long bike tour across France and had the best meal of the entire trip. The Chambres d’Hôtes are simple but clean, and everything you need is there. Bikes can be stored easily. There’s also a small restaurant with 5‑6 tables where the very friendly owners cook simply but wonderfully. In our case it was especially kind, because the booking had gone wrong for various reasons and the house was actually closed. We still got our room without any argument and were treated like royalty as the only guests.

The owners are very pleasant. I felt like I was at my grandmother’s. The place is calm in every way. The creaking wooden floor reminds me of old buildings, but that’s part of the nature. I do wish they had offered me the restaurant menu; I would have liked to try the dishes shown on your site with photos. Also, a soap dispenser in the bathroom would be nice.

You have to meet these incredibly clean people first! And they’re also top chefs. Don’t miss the chance to be cooked at the on‑site restaurant. All the best to these wonderful hosts! Nothing disappointed us; everything was excellent.

“Good small-scale full-service accommodation in remote village.”

1. The location suited us perfectly: an overnight stop in a village after a long drive (easy parking) with the possibility of having dinner and breakfast at the accommodation. Local walks allowed convenient options for fresh air. 2. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. 3. The room was spacious and simply and tastefully decorated. 4. The evening meal was excellent and good value for money. The continental breakfast was included. Reasonable extra-cost options were provided. Local produce was used. 5. This accommodation is also suitable as a base from which to explore the Thiérache, an unchanged region of La France Profonde
