The hotel's location was perfect, situated between Saint Lary and Piau Engaly
The family who runs it is truly fantastic - our encounter was so much more than just a pleasant experience!
The food was amazing, with every dish expertly prepared and presented.
What struck me most about this hotel was the manager's infectious joie de vivre.

“Séjour agréable dans un hotel ancien, bien situé ..... mais pas grace à l'accueil !!”
The hotel’s location was spot‑on for our needs, right near Saint Lary Soulan, and the access was easy at any time thanks to the coded entrance that gave us full autonomy. The parking lot was spacious and close to the building. The room, however, was cramped for three people and faced the road on the second floor, so the street noise was audible during the day, though it faded at night. We booked a four‑night stay for three, two of whom were joining the GRP trail, and the reception was only “mixed” when the hostess asked how many of us were there, which we thought was a joke that didn’t land. Later, she made an unpleasant remark about “checking the number of people actually in the room” and said some guests were “taking a room for two or three but actually sleeping in relay.” The worst part was at checkout when a woman who introduced herself as the hostess’s mother told us it was “not correct to have more than three of us relaying to sleep in the room” and that this would be the last time they would accept GRP runners. In short, we weren’t the type of guests she expected.
“Rapport qualité/prix excellent !”
The spot is perfect for walkers, close to many great trail starts. Breakfasts were hearty with our lovely hostess, and we could request picnics and get solid advice on trail choices and difficulty. The hotel could use a facelift, but learning it was flooded and the hostess is recovering after 11 months of closure, we can only applaud her courage amid the extensive repairs. So yes, it’s a bit old‑fashioned, but everything is especially clean and the hostess’s smile makes up for it.
“en demi-teinte”
The room was small but handy, clean, and despite being on the road it stayed quiet. I handed my room over to a couple of friends on the second night because I was ill; they were in a truck and my friend needed a shower and a good bed after 160 km of trail. They came to pay the extra person fee and the tax, and that’s when things got complicated. The owner had changed the sheets and assumed I was losing a hotel night. I didn’t leave the key at reception.
“Mille mercis à Cécilia pour sa gentillesse, son enthousiasme ... et sa cuisine fabuleuse !!!”
We stopped by for two days and it was a magical break. The owner, Cécilia, is an adorable woman with incredible kindness and availability, plus she’s a fantastic cook. Dinner was fantastic in size, quality, and price. A total delight. Eliane and Pascal
“Hôtel très simple parfait pour explorer les montagnes alentours”
The stay was simple, and the owners were kind.
