Sleep Inn Columbia Gateway

“I would definitely recommend staying there”

The service was friendly, the room was great, clean, and had all the necessary items; breakfast was great and getting in and out of the location was easy. Nothing was wrong, everything was amazing.

“Convenient location, typical breakfast, needs updates and better cleaning!”

It was very easy to access and not far from the Merriweather Pavilion. When we arrived there were coins on the floor indicating the floor hadn’t been vacuumed, which didn’t give us confidence in the linens; we didn’t want to walk barefoot on the sticky carpet and the carpet really needs to be changed. The pillows were so flimsy that we had to fold them in half to get a good puff.

The room held us for our duration and the area was quiet at night. Sleep Inn tried cancelling on me the day before I was set to check in; if it wasn’t for the fact I went to Booking they would have done it or tried to. At the hotel the room had peeling paint, felt humid, the Continental breakfast was a joke, the staff didn’t care, pillows were a bunch of small pillows that could barely fit a head, there were stains on sheets and towels, and the king‑sized bed might as well have been a rock.

I liked the inside environment. The outside environment was not as good.

“Need better property managers or somebody who properly manages guest complaints.”

Again the staff members were awesome and great; they do their best to help with anything. Besides the front desk staff and cleaners, the off‑site staff is terrible. I’m pretty sure that if I were a different color or race my complaints would’ve been handled differently. The property, the property management or whoever handles their complaints is awful; previously had complaints about my stay, after the first night my lady recognized some bites on her arm. Didn’t really think much of it until I also got bites on my arm, we even found a bed bug and had taken pics and vids to show the property. However after contacting the property, waiting patiently for days, and even paying more for another room because the property wouldn’t accommodate us without their own investigation, the property responded saying they won’t refund our previous stay due to the fact we didn’t complain about the bites the first night!!!! If I knew management was this bad I wouldn’t have paid for another room, I would’ve insisted on getting my refund and left.
