The spot was in a decent area, but the bleach smell was overpowering and the old rattling A/C had a potpourri bag stuck to it. I woke up one morning and the noise was so intense I thought there was road work outside my window, and the window wouldn’t open. I tried to cancel three weeks ahead, but the place wouldn’t cancel or refund. Whenever I stepped out to use the shared facilities, a guy from the hall would hover around like a ghost. He brought a UV light, the bedding was fine but the walls had some spray on them. I’m an old soldier, so I could tolerate it, but it’s not for the faint of heart.

The location was very central, yet the room was horrible, stinky, had no window, the furniture looked like it came from the dump, the walls were stained, and there wasn’t even a bedside lamp – I can’t believe we paid nearly $190 a night for something that looks like a jail cell.

The place is filthy; it’s called a hotel but it’s literally a boarding house. I paid $300 for a night in this dump.
