The traditional Japanese house was beautiful, with modern amenities. Nothing else was an issue, though the stairs are a little steep.

The food and scenery were excellent. The facilities felt a bit old‑fashioned and seemed inferior compared to other hotels.

Even though I had arranged a pickup from JR for the first time and the driver missed the station, they kindly sent another car right away. They also provided an air purifier, which made my stay comfortable. Late at night I noticed a constant mechanical hum coming from the room phone, unplugged it and slept, then reported it at checkout.

The natural scenery was stunning and the local cuisine was delightful. The property felt a little dated.

The location was perfect for our overnight stop on the Lake Biwa cycling loop, though the decor was somewhat old‑fashioned. The breakfast selection was solid. The design felt dated.
