The rooms were simple but spotless, and everything we needed was there. The spot was perfect—just a short walk to a pub, a bakery, and only about half an hour to Selwyn ski fields. The only downside was that there was nobody at the front desk; we just grabbed a key from the desk, which felt a bit unsettling staying with my young son on our own.

The location was spot‑on and the room was clean, warm, and the beds were comfortable. In the shared lounge we could use a microwave, toaster and hot water for simple meals, and one of the other guests even gathered firewood and lit the fireplace one night. The room itself was tiny—fine for a couple of nights but not ideal for a longer stay—and we never saw the manager. It would have been nice if the fire had been lit every evening.

We needed a two‑night stop near Selwyn Snow Resort and this motel turned out to be the cheapest and closest option. The 20 m² room was tiny but served its purpose—just a place to sleep. We arrived late, the reception was empty, but the key was left out and the A/C was already on, so the room was warm and welcoming. The bathroom was fairly clean, and the lounge offered hot and cold water plus tea and coffee packets.

The room was filthy—sheets hadn’t been changed and there was hair on the bed and pillows. No staff were on site, and when I called the manager, Anne came over, tried to brush off the dirt, and said she thought it had been cleaned the day before without actually checking. The bathroom was grimy, the whole place felt outdated for the price, and I won’t be returning or recommending it. Look at the other reviews; I’m not the first to point this out. Save your money and stay elsewhere in town.
