“Exceptional”
The intimate boutique style and the small number of rooms were a highlight, and there was nothing to complain about.

What makes this former chocolate factory special is its hidden charm—every door opens onto a pleasant surprise, with only four rooms and a patio restaurant that’s a must‑visit.

The room matched my expectations, was spacious and gave me plenty of room to move around, and the breakfast far exceeded what I anticipated—fresh, with a wide variety of continental options, a nice bonus included in the price. The location isn’t the best in the city, but it was safe and secure.

Everything! An old converted chocolate factory with a simply astonishing and delightful built in accommodation ( 4 rooms only); just excellent all round. A fabulous restaurant downstairs and if you stay in the blue room (“ooh that’s interesting” said our host) you can go straight into the speakeasy bar with Nick, the most amiable host. The room was gorgeous and as for the $30k bed oh wow! I so want a Hastens bed at home…. The immediate local environment, full of drug addled people and quite dirty generally; an absolute sod to find if you are walking from the train station

The rooms are very pretty and comfortable, but the area isn’t the best and I find it quite expensive for the level of experience. The location isn’t ideal; I would stay at a better‑located hotel. It’s surrounded by people with drug problems and feels very unsafe. The street outside is dirty, full of trash, which takes away from the hotel and I wouldn’t return for that. I care about security; the entrance isn’t simple, with many stairs, and I didn’t feel a luxury experience for the price.
