The staff were helpful. The restaurant was closed, so I had to eat out. The accommodation feels like it’s past its prime.

I was happy to find the hotel close to Jirisan National Park, just a short taxi ride to the Hwaeomsa Entrance, and the rooms were spacious with futons. However, the website had promised a pool, which was not available, a real let‑down especially for the kids, and the other sports facilities were not freely accessible. Korean breakfast was only offered when enough guests stayed in the hotel.

At check‑in, a pre‑ordered kettle was ready in my room, which was a nice touch. The room itself felt very old‑fashioned, with springs in the mattresses that could be felt with every movement. Apart from the two beds and a dresser, there were no other furnishings, not even on the balcony, making the stay overall uncomfortable and lacking any comfort.

Great value, good location and comfortable – we rested well. It would have been nicer to have a coffee pot and at least some cups, otherwise it was the best.
