If you’re planning a lot of hikes, this place is spot on—just a short stroll to every trailhead. The only hiccup is the walk from the bus stop; with a bunch of bags it’s worth grabbing a taxi. Taxis are plentiful in El Chaltén, just book ahead and Google the contact details.

The spot’s great—only a 10‑minute walk to the park entrance, and breakfast starts at 7 am so you can hit the trails early. The living room always has a kettle and tea ready. On the downside, our room was pretty basic and the bathroom plumbing was sketchy—the tap fell off when I turned it on, and the fix left the water weak. The owners moved us to a better room, which helped.

The staff were very attentive and the breakfast was full‑fledged. But the place feels pricey for the age of the facilities and rooms. Overall, everything in El Chaltén tends to be on the expensive side.

The Star lounge was nice, but the breakfast was pretty underwhelming.

We found this spot to be a solid pick—rooms were roomy, the bed super comfy, and the location was close to restaurants, cafés, and the Fitz Roy trail. Definitely recommend it.
