“Lovely decor and outdoor restaurant space for dining. Rooms need some minor tweaks to command the rack rate being charge”
The property is in the Cotswolds and easy to reach other towns. I loved the lovely outdoor area and the covered terrace at the restaurant. The room was beautifully furnished with bathrobes, a chargeable mini‑bar, and a snack selection. A large Dyson fan was handy. Complimentary water, cookies, tea, coffee, and an alcoholic nightcap (I didn’t try it) were all nice touches. The bathroom drain smelled awful. I bought a candle, but the staff said I couldn’t light it for safety reasons—reasonable. They applied drain cleaner, but the odor persisted and seeped into the bedroom, which was unpleasant; they covered the cost of a small bottle of wine from the minibar as compensation. The side‑table lamps dimmed immediately when turned on, so I had to use the overhead light to read. I mentioned both issues to the staff, hoping they’ll fix them for future guests. The mattress could use a topper for a more plush feel because the sheet let the mattress trim show through. The tray across the bath was too small and kept falling, so it wasn’t usable. These are minor problems, but at £220 for one night I think they should be addressed.
