“I paid $175 for what should have been $90 max.”
The location was fine, but the place was really loud and the beds were uncomfortable. Also the bathroom shower wasn’t hot.

Cheap price. Manager asked me to leave after a misunderstanding and didn't refund the next night's booking

The location of this hotel is perfect; it’s a short drive to the beach or downtown Carpinteria. There’s also a 7‑Eleven down the street, convenient if you need water or a snack. When we arrived there was a problem with the toilet handle—it was loose, almost broken. I notified the front desk, they said they would notify maintenance but no one ever came. We were still able to use the restroom, but we had to be extra cautious.

The housekeeping staff were lovely and the bed was fairly comfortable. It would be decent value for the area under normal circumstances. We didn’t get off to a great start because I had to change dates and there was a refusal to refund the first night due to the late cancellation. I first arrived to a fairly clean, comfortable room that suited my needs. On the second day there was a pipe issue and water came up through the shower drain; the bathroom and a good portion of the room were completely flooded. An offer was made for a key to another room upstairs despite mobility issues (I had booked a handicapped room for a reason), but the upstairs room at least would have been something. I was also given the option to move to another motel and receive a refund for the night, which would have required a full packing and another Uber, so I decided to wait it out. I heard nothing for about an hour and then went to the office because it was time for a bathroom break. The manager told me, obviously irritated and flustered, that he had rented the last upstairs room and nothing could be offered other than the employee and pool bathroom. This continued from about 4:30 pm until nearly 2 pm the following day. The morning call for the bathroom brought a line of sleepy, grumpy folks, which was less than pleasant and literally painful for me to accomplish. I extended my stay due to the price and overall comfort level for my situation and the difficulty in relocating. I requested a refund for the night without a bathroom as previously offered, but the manager refused. It’s a shame. In many ways this is a great little spot with a few lovely employees. There is such a hunger for money that the customer doesn’t want to return. PS: At least for now, there is construction going on throughout the building. There’s obviously noise but also the occasional loose spark from welding to dodge. At the very least, it was a colorful experience.
