It did not match the description: the house looked abandoned both outside and inside. No towels, so we couldn’t use the bathroom. No Wi‑Fi. The kitchen was very dirty. The microwave was unusable because it hadn’t been cleaned for months. No garden. The only positive was that the bedroom, bathroom, and toilet had been cleaned.

I scored this place 5.0/10. The price was cheap, there was free parking, and it was almost a whole building takeover—only the owner was on the first floor, but we were the only guests. I could use the fridge, and the surroundings were quiet. The owner was friendly and enjoyable to chat with. However, the location was hard to find, the overall cleanliness was lacking, and because it’s a mountain old house, bugs kept coming in. Those who dislike insects should be careful. I had to bring my own towels, toothbrushes, and other amenities.

“日帰り温泉の定休日を避ければ、古民家暮らし体験がとても安くできて良い経験になります”

I gave it a 7.0/10. I was happy that I could stay for two nights cheaply and that a hot spring was nearby. The old house charm was nice, but the steep stairs made slippers very risky, so I wore dirty socks to move around. It would be better if they had cloth sandals instead of slippers.

I rated it 3.0/10. The hot spring was close. The owner never responded; I couldn’t reach them by phone or email, so I didn’t know how to check in that day. There was no Wi‑Fi, no towels provided, and the floor and tatami were dusty. When we cleaned, the cleaner’s clothes turned black, so it seemed the place wasn’t cleaned. They only had two disposable hand towels.
