Lodge Mirador San Antonio- Colca

We had a great stay. We were welcomed very warmly, and the family was extremely kind, taking good care of us throughout, even when our daughter had a bit of altitude sickness. The room was simple but very clean, with cozy warm blankets. The freshly prepared food was delicious.

The staff were friendly, but the road to the property was in bad shape. I wished I had stayed in Chivay instead. The bedding looked dirty, with stains on the sheets and the comforters/duvets didn’t look neat. There was only a drip from the hot water line, and I had to ask the staff to find a different bathroom on a lower level that actually had hot water running so I could shower. No soap was available in the bathrooms or showers. I chose this place because the pictures made it look nice just outside town (Chivay), but it wasn’t the pleasant spot I expected.

The room was clean but cold in August, so I used an electric heater. The shower was hot, and breakfast was typical. It’s in a secluded village with no services, 30 minutes by car from Chivay. There’s parking on the property in a quiet area, and the little alpaca is friendly. The location was a drawback.

“Authentieke accommodatie in een prachtige omgeving”

I stayed in a small village far from the usual tourist spots, and the place was pretty simple but lovely. The staff were very friendly and we enjoyed a nice meal by the fireplace. The walks around the area were great. The room was basic, and sometimes the hot water didn’t come on and the toilet didn’t flush well, but everything was fixed quickly.
