Despite having a confirmed booking, the hotel was closed when we arrived and the phone number was unreachable—apparently the owners had gone on vacation! There were an awful lot of flies in the windows, which was a real disappointment.

The staff were accommodating with our late arrival, but everything else was worn out, damaged, and outdated. The noise from the train station during peak times was significant, though we only slept for a short time.

The place never gave me a room. I had booked through a site that showed five rooms free, but when I arrived an older, rather unfriendly lady, probably the owner, met me. I told her I had a reservation, and she said they only take cash and that she never rents anything through the site. After about ten minutes of talking, I asked her to cancel my booking since she couldn’t accommodate me, but she refused, insisting she had nothing to do with the booking. I ended up calling the site’s support and the police.

The location was quiet. The only downside was that breakfast was not provided.

We liked the homey feel. The price differed from what was agreed on Booking, yet there was a free room available, which we appreciated. They could have mentioned that a renovation was underway. Otherwise everything was lovely and fragrant.
