“Don't expect much”

I booked it conveniently at the last minute because we unexpectedly had to stay in Colombo, and you get what you pay for; I tried to book a room over the phone but was hung up on, and I had to change rooms because the cigarette smoke smell was terrible.

The spot is in the middle of town, but it feels more like a 2‑star place than a 3‑star.

We booked a family room that was surprisingly roomy and the beds were comfortable, and the location and price were solid. The only downside was a strong, odd smoke scent that filled the whole building – you can live with it, but it’s there. Other than that, it was all good for the price.

“Nice but needs some upkeep.”

The location works and the rooms are a decent size, but the place is almost worth staying at if it just got some basic upkeep. A fresh coat of paint would make a big difference; the walls looked like people were sticking their shoes in them when they leaned on the windows.
