The spot was spot‑on – tucked away enough for quiet, yet only a three‑minute stroll to Line 11 and a half‑hour ride to Nanjing Road. Breakfast gave a decent mix of Western and Asian dishes, the rooms and public areas were spotless, and the gym and laundry were easy to use. Only gripe was the thin walls; I could hear the wind howling all night, but a pair of earplugs solved it.

The place blew me away – prime location, spotless rooms and a breakfast spread that covered all bases. The downside was the language barrier; despite the claim of English‑speaking staff, I had to rely on Google Translate every time I dealt with the front desk. When I checked in they tried to slip an extra charge for breakfast even though I’d already paid for it, and only after a lot of back‑and‑forth and showing my reservation did they fix it. Not what I’d expect from a five‑star property.

The rooms and even the hallways felt like a sauna, which made it uncomfortable after a long day. On top of that the staff seemed all over the place, not coordinated at all.

Being just steps from the MRT and having a luggage drop‑off made getting around a breeze, and the room was huge. The only annoyance was having to ask the front desk for a fresh toothbrush each morning.

The hotel sat right next to the metro, and the rooms felt cozy enough to make the price feel right; staff were quick to help and the food was decent. A few team members struggled with English, but they were still friendly. Since we were visiting in winter the room stayed at a toasty 25 °C with no heater, and the air felt stale, though they handed us a fan to make it bearable.
