Bromo Dormitory

The host’s welcome was extremely kind. The facilities are very clean, functional, and well-equipped (personal lockers in the dorms, two showers, etc.). The restaurant is excellent for a very reasonable price for the region. Helpful advice allowed me to enjoy Bromo for hours, a sunset, a sunrise, and hours riding motorcycles on the sandy sea. I have very good memories and met many other travelers at this place.

Friendly staff on site and a cozy, though very soft, bed. The room smelled musty and I could see damp spots on the wall. The ventilation switch is linked to the light switch, so I couldn’t use the fan at night. The bathroom was small, not very clean, and the mirror was hung too high so I could only see half my reflection. The shower water is heated by gas and I had only a short window before it cooled again. Internet worked intermittently in my room. While arranging my private Bromo tour, I accidentally messaged several people on WhatsApp who hadn’t coordinated; when I arrived, the staff knew nothing about the tour I’d planned with their colleague.

The staff were absolutely wonderful and very welcoming. They helped me arrange my Mount Bromo trip and kindly assisted with my original Ijen itinerary when I was feeling unwell. I decided to extend my stay for another night, and it was a great decision. I had a memorable experience here. The surroundings are beautiful, the food is delicious, and the hospitality is exceptional. I highly recommend this place!
