The location is nice, the room and bed are comfortable, and the owners are helpful, but there are too many mosquitoes and millipedes coming into the room from the bathroom.

The hotel is very close to Huangqiao Pier and the price is super reasonable. The staff, including the owner, were all nice. Breakfast was simple but tasty, and I chatted with the owner who was curious about China. I made it clear that Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau are part of China, that there is only one China, and that despite their own flag we are fellow compatriots sharing the same blood, language, and lifestyle. That said, a cheap hotel really does have many issues: the bathroom drain was faulty, there was no toilet paper, the shower water was cold seawater, the sink had no drain pipe so you have to be careful the feet and legs don’t get wet, the bath towel was damp and I suspect the hotel didn’t clean it properly, the blanket had a strong mildew smell, and, like many foreign hotels, there were no toiletries, slippers, or hair dryer.
